About GSRC: Your Local Running Club In London, Manchester and NYC

In 2018, a handful of colleagues laced up their kicks and set out for a run, leaving their bags at GSHQ and downloading Strava to clock their miles and give kudos to one another for actually turning up. The club grew from that very first session and has continued to go from strength to strength every year since.

Today, Gymshark Run Club is an ever-growing running club located in two locations in London. We’ve recently expanded even further, launching new run clubs from our Manchester and NYC stores, bringing the community to even more runners across the UK and the US.

GSRC is open to all of our community members with no sign-up fee or membership required. We have one aim: to bring the community together and help others experience the thrill of running.

We complete a 5K route with pacers to suit your time, so you can come along and train for your next race, aim to hit a PB, or just take a casual run with other members of The Gymshark Family.

How to Find a Running Club Near You in London

Search for "running clubs London" or "London running clubs" to discover local groups, including park runs, week-day runs and free running clubs. Many running clubs also have social media pages where you can check out upcoming events, find out the important deets and get a feel for what to expect from the run club.

How To Combat Anxiety Around Joining A Running Club

Ever thought about joining a run club but worried you’re not fast enough? Or maybe you’ve seen all those TikToks about the social side of running clubs and wondered if they’re really as inclusive as they claim? You’re not alone, there are whole forums online dedicated to the anxiety of turning up to a run club for the first time, especially alone. But here’s the truth, most running clubs aren’t about speed. They’re about community, motivation, and simply showing up.

No one's expecting you to run a 4"00 km, wear the most expensive running gear or be the chattiest most outgoing person there. The reality is, everyone is there for the same reason, to run. There's bound to be a few people in the same boat as you, but the run club hosts are there to make sure any first-timers feel comfortable and welcome. And if you are hoping to make friends through a run club, our advice is to show-up regularly, get chatting to people, and just be yourself!

Benefits of Joining A Run Club

Challenge Yourself With Timed Pacers

Not everyone who runs is competitive, but if you thrive on being challenged and pushing yourself further, having a timed pacer to run alongside can be the difference between a gentle jog and a 5K PB.

No matter what pace you want to run at, running groups will offer a speed to suit everyone.

Community, Accountability & Support

Being surrounded by a community of runners can make for an extremely supportive environment. We mean, you're all there for the same reason at the end of the day... to run.

Having like-minded individuals around you (no matter where you are in your running journey) can encourage and support you on the days you need it most. From social pages, to exclusive group chats where you can exchange advice on the latest running gear, joining a run club can be a great way to socialise, and find a supportive network of people who will keep you accountable.

Safety

Running groups provide a sense of safety for both novice and experienced runners alike. Whether you pound the pavement, or run on trails, as the nights get darker, we know it get can pretty uncomfortable running alone in the dark.

Running with a group can often help some of those fears to subside, allowing you to focus on what you set out to do, which is run. If you're new to the area, or you've switched up your usual route for something a little more fresh, running with a group can also be beneficial as you'll have an experienced runner with you... meaning there's no chance of you getting lost, or taking a wrong turn along the way.
